QS MBA Skills and Salaries Trends: Average salary by MBA specialisation
Use the interactive tool below to discover the average salaries per MBA specialisation according to the QS Global Employer Survey 2022.
Finance has consistently been a top career path for MBA students and graduates looking for a high-paying job in this industry will want to take note of the high salaries offered by Australian employers, beating both the UK and US. Consulting, another common career path for MBA graduates, is another area where Australian employers out-perform their UK counterparts.
Speaking of the UK, traces of the UK’s industrial past can potentially be seen in the fact both operations/manufacturing and
supply chain/logistics promise higher levels of income than a general management position. ‘Newer’ industries such as finance
and marketing fail to compete on a salary front, particularly with the US where the highest MBA salaries are offered in consulting, finance and sales, three sectors which underpin the economic activity of vast swathes of America.
In truth, there is relatively little difference between the lowest-paid and highest-paid specialisations in the US – with all promising the chance of a six-figure salary – so MBA graduates looking for a large pay packet will be best served by industries where bonus amounts tend to be highest.
