Summary

Our MBA Global develops both subject knowledge and an impressive portfolio of transferable skills. You’ll benefit from regular career planning sessions which will help you identify the sectors and job roles that appeal to you, and help you understand how to put your new skills to use within industry. The programme is cleverly structured so that you can move beyond a domestic business mindset, to consider issues and seek solutions in a truly global context. Each module focuses on key aspects of international business.

The specifics

We offer three MBA pathways to match your existing experience, current role and future plans. All give you a thorough grounding in strategic leadership, financial performance management, global operations, markets and resources, business research methods and data analysis.

·         The MBA Global pathway helps you develop a broad-based, fully-rounded understanding and features key themes such as risk management and global supply chain management.

·         The MBA Global Finance pathway enables you to explore issues such as international finance and mergers and acquisitions in greater detail.

·         The MBA Global Hospitality Management pathway focuses on current industry trends, hospitality operations management, service quality and customer experience and satisfaction.

Learning within industry as we as in the classroom

Our MBA Global has practical experience and work-based learning at its heart. That’s because we believe that the best learning comes by doing – applying the theory, reflecting on your successes and failures, and then adjusting your approach based on that experience.

You will apply everything you learn to real-world business scenarios:

·         All your assignments are based on genuine challenges faced by organisations today.

·         We use fascinating case studies to show you international business from fresh angles.

·         Exciting projects will take you directly into companies so you gain experience in different business situations. For example, MBA students have recently been working with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to support the development of a new trust-wide strategy.

You even have the option of concluding your course with a Corporate Placement Project*, instead of a traditional dissertation. For this, you will identify, investigate and resolve a real business problem in either your own or another organisation.
