Founded in 1949 as the College of Business Administration, the college was renamed in 2006 after alumnus Jay H. Shidler, founder and managing partner of The Shidler Group, made a transformational gift of $25 million. In 2017, Mr. Shidler increased his total giving to $228 million, making it the largest donation at the University of Hawai‘i from a private donor.  The college offers students a wide selection of degree, certificate and executive programs in a unique multicultural learning environment enhanced by collaborative learning, research projects, international speakers, internships, study abroad and career opportunities.

- 21-month plan - Full-time course load maximizes the MBA experience. 

- 24-month plan - Earn your MBA in two years while still working full-time or part-time. 

- 36-month plan - The most accommodating of the Global MBA options.

Students in the Global MBA 21-month plan,  may also choose a China or Japan focus and take advantage of the excellent language courses offered at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and find a study abroad or internship experience in those countries. 

Our Global MBA program is the only AACSB International accredited graduate program in Hawai`i and is one of the few MBA programs in the US with a true Asia-Pacific focus.
