MBA
Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College of Economics and Management is China’s first triple-accredited school. The International MBA (IMBA) program is set in the heart of Shanghai, with additional campuses in Shenzen and Singapore (via a partnership with NTU).
The status of ACEM’s MBA has improved markedly in recent years, with highly-qualified faculty publishing among the highest number of academic papers of any Chinese business school. The bump in MBA graduates’ salaries (101%) upon completion of the course is another factor, with strengthened career development guidance and support offered to students.
The innovation-focused ACEM MBA course designers introduced pre-test, face-to-face interviews to assess its prospective MBA students in 2008, and established a fund to support graduates’ start-up plans.
In recent years, ACEM has also reinforced its international links through study tours to countries including the US, UK, and Israel. It has established cooperation with many leading business schools around the world – including Wharton, IE, Harvard, MIT, the University of Cambridge, LSE, and Yale – to offer its students quality international exchange experiences.
As well as encouraging its students to study overseas, ACEM has also attracted an increasing number of foreign nationals, with 20% overseas students enrolled in the ACEM MBA program in 2016. The percentage of female students is also solid, at 43% in 2017.
ACEM’s mission statement is, "to develop the highest level managerial talent with international viewpoints and capabilities, enabling graduates to compete successfully in the global economy".
ACEM’s MBA programs deliver this vision by training students with an international perspective while maintaining a focus on China. ACEM professors nurture innovation and creativity, cultivate high ethical standards in students, and equip them with global business management knowledge for a bright future as business leaders.
ACEM offers two full-time programs: a two-year International MBA (IMBA) and the CLGO MBA/Meng. Both are taught in English, with an opportunity to learn Chinese through weekly classes, enabling students to expand their grasp of Chinese culture.
ACEM students also have the option of pursuing a dual-degree program, with one year at the partner university and one year at ACEM, with a degree from each school upon graduation. Partner-school MBAs include the SJTU ACEM MBA/IE MBA in partnership with IE Business School in Madrid, Spain – a highly selective course open to three students per year; and the SJTU ACEM MBA/ESCP MBA/MIM, in partnership with ESCP Europe, which can be taken at ESCP’s campuses in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, and Torino (Turin). This is also highly selective, open to five students per year.
Organizations including SJTU’s MBA Alumni Association and the Institute of Chinese Enterprises Development of SJTU maintain close ties to ensure alumni are able to upgrade their business knowledge, share their professional experiences, and explore business opportunities.
Overall, MBA graduates have excellent prospects, with 100% of students employed within three months of graduation, with an average salary of US$123,330. This figure reflects ACEM students’ increasingly well-respected profile in global talent markets.
