Our Leadership Development Program offers an individualized approach for each student's personal development. This distinctive program mirrors the best at many of the world's greatest Fortune 500 companies. The optional program is an incredible opportunity to work with experienced staff and certified Executive Coaches.
The school is a sponsor of the Forté Foundation, which helps launch women into careers in business.
The curriculum is based on a modular system of intensive courses. A Vanderbilt MBA graduate will study on campus for a minimum of 62 credit hours. The first year is an immersive experience into the fundamentals of management, and includes 11 core courses, such as introduction to financial accounting, leading teams and organizations, and management communication. Immersive experience is gained through week-long immersions and treks such as the healthcare immersion, brand week, consulting, tech and finance treks to different regions of the US, visiting corporations. There is the opportunity to customize the MBA program through concentrations and specializations. Concentrations include strategy, finance, accounting, general management, healthcare, human and organizational performance, marketing, and operations and analytics.
Each MBA class has around 170 students, with an age range of 23 through to 47. The average age of students is 28. 26% of students are women, and 18% are international students. Mean average prior work experience is 5.2 years. International students come from across the world, from such countries as Colombia, Peru, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Germany, UK, Nigeria, China, Vietnam, and India, to name just a few.
There are various opportunities for international study in the Vanderbilt MBA. Students can choose from a wide range of electives that have an international focus, participate in international seminar or faculty-led trips, and can study overseas through exchange programs.
In 2017, 93% of Owen MBA graduates had received a job offer at three months post graduation. 100% of first-year MBA students that were seeking an internship had accepted an internship offer by the June of their first year.
