University information

The student recruiting process at OBS Business School is done remotely.

Admission requirements, dates, and specific details vary according to the programme of your choosing. It's advisable to review the specific requirements on the respective programme pages before initiating the application process. Once candidates have the necessary information and decide to apply for an MBA or a master's degree, the general process unfolds as follows: A preliminary interview takes place between the candidate and the academic advisor. The purpose is to ensure that the candidate meets the necessary requirements for enrolment in the master's degree programme.

General requirements are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish
  • Possessing professional experience, although not a strict requirement, is nonetheless highly desirable.

If these criteria are met, the candidate submits the necessary documentation proving they fulfil the requirements. This documentation is submitted together with their Curriculum Vitae, academic transcripts and a motivation letter. The motivation letter should include a brief personal presentation and a description of the students’ work experience as well as their professional strengths.

In addition, students should also present their reasons to apply for the master's degree as well as the expected contribution to the group of participants in the course. The Academic Admissions Committee meets and decides on the candidate’s eligibility based on this documentation. The information provided in the CV, as well as the candidate’s academic background, helps determine if they possess the necessary technological skills to properly follow an online course.

OBS Business School primarily uses the Blackboard LMS platform for lecture delivery and conducting classes, supplemented by a new, more user-friendly videoconferencing version tailored to the virtual campus environment. This upgraded version offers intuitive features, easier navigation, live subtitles, and participation reports.

As part of the campus transformation, a welcome area has been introduced to enhance student engagement. Virtual classrooms serve as meeting points for students and lecturers, equipped with tools like debate areas, announcement boards, web conferences, exams, resource upload spaces, programme guides, and calendars to facilitate the learning process.

OBS Business School extends supplementary online resources to its students, specifically tailored for academic purposes. These resources include access to esteemed academic journals, providing students with valuable insights, research materials, and scholarly content to support their academic endeavours.

  • Harvard Deusto Journals: A database which provides students and lecturers with informative articles from areas such as marketing, strategic management, management skills, human resources, finance and sales.
  • Emerald: An online research database where students and lecturers can find scientific contributions from their areas of interest.
  • Ebscohost : An online research database where students and lecturers can find scientific contributions from their areas of interest.

The faculty, comprises of more than 450 practicing professors closely connected to the business community. Teaching usually adopts a methodology called "Student ON", which is a unique approach allowing students to learn in a fully online environment with the simulations of professional world complexities. 

OBS Business School also houses a research centre known as the OBServatory 3.0, comprising of a global community of deans, managers, professors, and researchers affiliated with business schools or universities. This centre is dedicated to identifying socioeconomic trends and their profound impact on society. It facilitates fostering the exchange of ideas among experts and identifying the key advancements and trends in online higher education.

The OBS Business School alumni community, boasting more than 39,000 professionals worldwide, fosters connections among former students through a global network. Student life

The virtual campus is incorporated with the Blackboard collaborate Ultra, which is a new video conferences version of the LMS platform, which is more intuitive, easier to use platform. Virtual classrooms are the meeting point for students and lecturers. In these classrooms several tools are offered in order to enhance the learning process: a debate and discussion area, an announcements area, web conferences, exams and tests, spaces to upload the required resources, programme guides and calendars to keep track of key dates (e.g. exams and activities deadlines), an activity area where students can upload their completed assignments and an evaluation area where students’ grades are posted.

To enrich the educational experience, OBS Business School even provides access to various online resources, including renowned platforms such as Harvard Deusto Journals, Emerald, and Ebscohost. These resources facilitate the generation of scientific and informative articles.

OBS follows an innovative pedagogical model where the core is the student, called the "Student ON" methodology. The school carries out personalised monitoring throughout the academic year during which, the student, can count on the support and tutoring from their respective programme manager. The programmes typically incorporate case studies, workshops, business plans, debates and various simulators and software to aid the learning process.


OBS seeks to add value to the knowledge that students acquire during their academic training, by providing them with the necessary tools to be more competitive in their careers via their concept of “knowledge cycles”. The primary objectives of these resources are to expedite students' professional development, enhance their job competitiveness, guide them in building and cultivating a personal brand, impart skills on accessing hidden employment opportunities, and assist them in designing and crafting their individualised career plans. 

There are three cycles included in the knowledge cycle assisting the ultimate goal. They are, the entrepreneurship cycle, employability cycle and the professional development cycle. 

Additionally, the alumni community of OBS Business School which is a joint initiative of students, alumni, academic faculty and the business community also provides career support services to more than 36,000 trained professionals. The services made available to students and alumni are detailed below:

For this reason, a study on the employability of students and the impact of the school's training on the professional development and employability of the students was carried out in 2022.

As per their Employment Report, the employability rate of OBS graduates stands at 97.8% after completing their studies. Likewise, 65.3% of students tend to obtain a promotion, 53.8% receive new job offers and 68.3% receive a higher salary 12 months after graduating from OBS Business School. Additionally, more than 50% of students are working in multinationals recognised around the world such as BBVA, Deloitte, Nestle, Telefónica or PWC.
