About

GITAM University’s main campus is situated in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The campus is located in a picturesque location, surrounded by lush green hills and is very near to Rushikonda beach, one of the popular tourist spots in South India.

It is one of the few deemed universities in South India. GITAM is the first private institute in Andhra Pradesh to receive the university status. GITAM strongly imbibes the values and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi in its culture to shape the career and personality growth of its students.

English in the main language of instruction but Telugu and Hindi are also used. GITAM offers courses in Sanskrit, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish.

Student Life

GITAM reserves 15 percent of seats for international students under foreign/NRI category which includes Non-Indian Passport-holders, PIO Card Holders, OCI (Overseas Citizens of India), Non-Resident Indians and NRI sponsored students (sponsored by NRI parents, parents’ brother/sister and candidates brother/sister).

International students are expected to reside in the hostel during their course. Students are not permitted to live in rented houses, lodges either alone or in groups.

Admissions

As a member of the India Global Higher Education Alliance GITAM accepts SAT scores for Foreign / NRI students for undergraduate admissions, in addition to the candidate fulfilling the eligibility criteria in the 10+2 of India or equivalent. Admission of MBBS/BDS and architecture (B Arch) will be based on the rank secured in NEET or NATA scores.

GITAM follows Rolling Admissions, candidates are suggested to apply for early admission for confirmation and scholarship.
