The Eller MBA experience is focused on innovation, application, and communication. This gives graduates the experience they need to effectively lead in today’s rapidly changing global market place.
The MBA is a rigorous academic experience, and is structured to enhance personalized leadership development, analytical capacity, and strengthen knowledge in the competitive marketplace. There are core sets of rigorous and analytically-oriented business topics. Experiential learning, managerial and business communications capabilities, and professional development activities augment the core courses. The core courses include leadership and teams, applied business statistics, economics for managers, introduction to financial accounting, business strategy, introduction to managerial accounting, operations management, and strategic management of information systems. In addition, there are a number of electives available within themes of study. The themes are accounting, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, management and organizations, management information systems, and marketing. Concentrations, which will help you compete effectively in the job market for particular professions are also available. The choices at Eller are entrepreneurship, finance, health care management, management information systems, and marketing.
The Eller College of Management is uniquely positioned to ensure that students have access to transformative opportunities in the global business environment. The full-time MBA core-curriculum includes a two-credit Global Business Experience Course, in conjunction with international travel, taken during the winter break of the first year. Recent locations visited include China, Singapore and Malaysia, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Elective courses include the financial management of the multi-national enterprise, international marketing, international management, and international finance reporting standards. Other global experiences include the John Molson MBA international case competition that is held in Montreal, Canada.
Class sizes are kept small, with less than 50 students per MBA program. The average age of students is 28, with around four years of prior work experience. The Class of 2019 consists of 29% female students, with eight different nationalities represented, including students from China, India, Japan, Mexico, and Nigeria.
Graduates of the Eller MBA enjoy great success. There was an 87% employment rate within 90 days of graduation for the class of 2016. The average salary was US$89,859, with an average signing bonus of US$19,360. Companies that hire Eller MBA graduates include Aldi, Equity Methods, FireEye, RedHat, PayPal, Inc., Microsoft, JCPenney, Walmart, and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
