1. What were you doing before your MBA?
- Partner / Manager in credit card processing and equipment sales firm
- Petty Officer Second Class, Fleet Marine Force, US Navy
- Intern, Corporate Finance / Investment Banking, Allen and Company
2. What were your main reasons for deciding to attend business school?
- To get solid understanding of finance, accounting and economics
- To make a transition from the military to the civilian world.
3. What research did you undertake in selecting your school?
- Reviewed schoolrankings
- Reviewed school web-sites
- Spoke to peers and other graduate students
- Visited several campuses
4. What were the main criteria in your selection?
- Rankings / post-grad salaries
- Scholarships / fellowships
- Level of support from CMC Faculty
- Average entrant's GMAT score and GPA
- Location
5. How well do your think the MBA is regarded in your home country?
There are many MBA programs with different educational requirements. Schools offering these programs also differ with respect to their motivations. At times the level of education becomes secondary to quick profits. This is understandable but unfortunate as these programs dilute the overall value of the MBA. Therefore I think the value of MBA differs depending on the school. I think it is very much also driven by the economic conditions. At this time the MBA hiring is on the rise. Big Hoooorah to that!
6. How are you financing your studies?
- Eric C. Vance Fellowship
- Montgomery GI Bill
- Persian Gulf Veteran Scholarship
- Government Loan.
7. Were you successful in obtaining a scholarship?
I was granted a Fellowship upon the acceptance to school.
8. Have you already been, or do you intend to become an entrepreneur?
Yes. I think I am an entrepreneur at heart. Always think of the ways to make a buck and have fun doing it!
9. How much do you expect to earn on graduation?
I expect to earn enough to provide for my family and may be a bit more. With that said, what I really expect is to find a job that is in line with my career objectives.
