About University of Hertfordshire Business School

Hertfordshire Business School has been offering business degrees since 1965, and has established an excellent reputation in the field. The school is located at our £120m campus in Hatfield, just 20 minutes to London Kings Cross by train. With a wide range of degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and a strong research team, it is easy to see why we were awarded the Times Higher Education (THE) ‘Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ award in 2010.

The school prides itself on the vocational relevance of its programmes, and focuses on providing education that prepares our graduates for their future careers. This is achieved through our strong links with industry – allowing us to draw from both theoretical and practical advancements in the field when developing our programmes.

The part-time AMBA Accredited Hertfordshire Executive MBA programme is designed to fit around your lifestyle and is completely flexible. The programme is taught over ten 3 day weekends (Fri-Sun) per year, so students who are employed have minimum disruption to their working life. Strategic management is a key theme of this programme, it addresses not only the what and how of managing but also the why. The programme:

  • Offers a distinctive integrative approach to leadership and enterprise skills development
  • Is informed by cutting edge research, industry practice and live consultancy
  • Develops enterprising reflective leaders equipped with corporate entrepreneurship skills and a min-set driven by risk-taking and growth orientation

Reflective learning methods help you apply your learning to make sense of your experience, whilst sharing your experience with others enhances your learning by giving you an understanding of different ways of managing, making you more responsive to a variety of management situations and facilitating the development of your management career.

The business school is home to a thriving research community, which includes the following specialist research centres with an international reputation in their field:

  • Global Economy and Business Research Unit (GEBRU)
  • Finance and Accounting Research Unit (FARU)
  • Management and Strategy Research Unit (MSRU)

  • Creative Industries Research and Consultancy Unit (CIRCU)
