TopMBA Weekly Pulse December 11
By Mike Grill
Updated UpdatedWith the holiday season now well under way, what better way to celebrate than by looking at what bloggers think of the schools they are applying to?
Ok, there are probably a few better ways to celebrate, but the Pulse won’t be getting you any gifts. Except for your blog’s presence! (Get it?) (Sorry.)
EF Essays, for instance, takes a cold, hard (like the winters - welcome to pun day!) look at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business.
My Journey to Business School, meanwhile, expounds on their love of Kellogg and its MMM program (which has nothing to do with Campbell’s Soup - ok, I am done with the cheap gags now, promise).
Elsewhere, Hugo in the Middle gets his interview with Duke and lets us all know how it went. ProGMAT was also interviewed: by Accepted.com, which you can read about in their latest blog entry.
For anyone deliberating over their choice of school and MBA program, George Mason School of Business has 8 excellent and (surprisingly!) unbiased questions that could be a huge help to your decision-making journey.
Waxing technical for a moment, MBA Data Guru breaks it all down for us; an in-depth analysis of Harvard Business School's acceptance rates, that is. John Thunder MBA also gets analytical, in producing a Chicago Booth Buy-Side Employment Report, detailing employers on the buy-side of finance.
We will wrap things up (I lied earlier, puns are never finished!) this week with a look at some current MBA students.
From Voice of America comes a film about study abroad students facing the challenges of stereotypes in the US.
Elsewhere, Piyush Jain reports from the front lines of Tech trek week at UCLA Anderson; Kelley MBA, Pathik Bhatt, has some excellent questions for the founders of Elegance Decor; and UCD Smurfit takes a look back at how fast time seems to go when you’re immersed as president of the school’s rugby club.
