CUHK Business School has been delivering MBA programs since 1963, one of the first schools to do so in Asia. Over the past half century the school has gained global recognition for nurturing business leaders and the effect its alumni has had on the Asia-Pacific market and beyond. CUHK has the largest business school alumni network in Hong Kong, with over 1,800 alumni working in Hong Kong itself. There are 6,600 MBA plus 30,000 business school alumni members representing senior positions from 40 countries worldwide.
The flagship full-time MBA consists of core and elective courses, divided into three regular terms and an optional summer term. Full-time MBA students complete 51 units and completion of the full-time curriculum normally takes 12 months. If desired, students can opt for summer internship/international exchange/dual-degree program to extend their studies up to 24 months. Options for a dual-degree program with HEC Paris, the Rotterdam School of Management or the University of Texas at Austin in the second year of study, students will be conferred degrees from both CUHK Business School and one of our partner universities.
The CUHK MBA places great emphasis on preparing leaders for the digital age and keeping at the sharp end of technological developments. As such a selection of the current courses available include ‘AI and Machine Learning’, ‘Fintech Analytics’, ‘Data Visualization and Business Intelligence’ and many others.
To become a forerunner in China, one must have knowledge of business practices in China. MBA courses like “China in Global Economy” and “Belt and Road cum Greater Bay Area Ecosystem” help you tap into unlimited opportunities in China.
Students may stick to the general MBA program or include an optional concentration in either “Finance and Technology” or “Entrepreneurship and Innovation”. As the first Hong Kong MBA program with a focus on entrepreneurship, we conduct courses on venture capital investment and startups. Our partnership with the Pan-Asia Venture Development Platform (PAVD), one of the world’s largest venture investment clubs, connects students and graduates with angels and venture capitalists in the region.
In 2018, 96% of students were placed in full-time roles within three months and 93% of students secured offers in Asia including China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam.
Candidates are required to have a recognized bachelor’s degree and at least three years of full-time post-qualification work experience in addition to a satisfactory GMAT/GRE and IELTS/TOEFL scores. While there is no hard and fast rule as to a minimum GMAT score required to be accepted, it is worth keeping in mind that the average score for current students is 600 or above.
A number of scholarships are available that provide up to 50% of tuition fees while students may also qualify for other financial aid schemes.
