The Otago Online MBA has been tremendously well-received since it was launched in 2015. It is based on the same academic curriculum as the reputed full-time, on-campus MBA. The Otago Online MBA is a 100% synchronous programme for students who want a high-quality MBA education but are unable to study full-time or to be on campus. Through the use of Zoom videoconferencing students attend live weekly lectures, share interactive discussions with classmates and join in break-out sessions. Should they occasionally miss a class, they can catch up with the recordings and be back on track.
Quality MBA programme
The only differences between the online and on-campus programmes are the delivery mechanism and timeframe. Online students study exactly the same curriculum as the on-campus students, submit similar assignments and sit similar examinations. Entry requirements are the same for all Otago MBA programmes.
The online programme is designed to be part-time and takes 24 months to complete, instead of the on-campus 15 months. Classes for each paper are conducted twice a week in the evenings across six weeks with a week break between papers.
What students need to attend the class
To participate in the online classes, students will need the following:
Alternative graduation option
The Otago MBA qualification opens doors to excellent career options. However, personal situations or motivations can change over the course of part-time study. For this reason, part-time students are given the choice of graduating earlier, after completing eight subjects, with the well-respected University of Otago Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDipBusAdmin).
