University information
Students can apply to any of EHL Hospitality Business School’s programs online. They will be asked to create a profile on the school’s online application portal and submit the following documents in either French, English, German, or Italian:
- Passport
- Diploma/ academic transcripts
- Language certificate (if English or French is not the student’s first language)
- CV (optional)
- Work experience report (optional)
- References (optional)
If their official documents are not in the aforementioned languages, they will also need to submit a copy that has been translated into English by a certified translator. In addition, they will need to submit information about the school or university that they have studied at previously and an explanation of the grading and assessment systems. They will then be asked to pay the 175 CHF application fee. After submitting their documents, the student will then be asked to submit an essay that they have written about why they have chosen to study at EHL, what their career aspirations are, or their views on current trends within the hospitality industry.
If the student’s application meets the school's requirements, they will be asked to complete a 20-minute online interview and an aptitude test. This test will be composed of three small exams and will evaluate the student’s skills in leadership, analytical reasoning, motivation, and communication.
If the student passes the interview and the aptitude test, they will be invited to attend a motivation day where they will partake in another interview about their experience and passion for the industry so that faculty members can find out if the student will be good within the school. They will also complete a team-building exercise with the other candidates present to see if they can work well in a team.
After the motivation day, students will find out whether their application was successful or not. If they are offered a place, they can complete their enrolment via the online portal.
Scholarships and funding opportunities
To support their students and ensure that every talented student can thrive, EHL offers several scholarship options.
When submitting their application, undergraduate students may apply for a tuition waiver or an academic excellence award to contribute towards their studies.
All students can apply for a partial scholarship, where a grant is given to cover part of a student’s tuition fees and living expenses, and an honorary loan, which is repaid at 0% interest and will also cover part of a student’s tuition fees and living expenses.
It is important to note that grants and loans are awarded annually for the coming academic year. Students will need to reapply for a grant or loan for each year of their study.
