TopMBA Weekly Pulse May 1

Welcome back to the TopMBA Weekly Pulse, where we assemble the best MBA blogs floating around on the interwebs. It is the end of the school year for many students, which means summer internships, graduation…maybe even a week or two off?

We kick things off a bit backwards this week, as 2 years at HBS ponders life after business school, while Reaching the Thirties celebrates the last day of classes at Duke Fuqua. On the subject of life after school, GMU Business School’s blog looks at the ROI of an MBA program. ROI isn’t just about money of course; it also includes things like the alumni network – a topic UCLA Anderson alum Kyle Forest talks about a year after graduation.

Since it is the end of the year, it’s time for two things: reflections, like those from MIT bloggers Erica Zendell (on the first year) and Jarbas Santos Pinheiro (on the Africa Study Tour), and awards. Kellogg students were hard at work in the competitions this year, winning the ‘Best Impact Investment’ at the MIINT competition, and hosting the annual Kellogg Sports Business Conference. Steven Ma takes a second to talk about how great the second year electives at Duke Fuqua are, now that he’s got through them!

If you are preparing to start the application process, EF Essays has an excellent post about the quant section of the GMAT, while Pro GMAT is starting the studying and practice testing process all over again. If anyone out there is getting discouraged, MBA Over 30 has an inspirational post about how someone just like you got into top business schools.

Finally, My Life of Bliss has made her decision
