TopMBA Weekly Pulse: April 2

This week’s Pulse is no joke! Unfortunately, that means that a couple bloggers have had to deal with the ding-train, otherwise known as receiving a b-school rejection.

Pulling That MBA Trigger is dealing with their official dings, but still has some great advice and lessons to take from their mistakes.

TopDogMBA also got a few dings, but now has some great news for us all - what a difference a year makes!

More advice from EF Essays about how to deal with the ding-train (it’s officially coined, now), and it doesn’t require going on a bender.  Scott Duncan is riding the admission high from Harvard Business School (congrats!) and has put together some awesome graphs about the top business schools over the last 20 years.

Asanas and an MBA, meanwhile, is learning that yoga has not increased her flexibility without a warm up, but we tend to think of flexibility more allegorically for this post.

A Fork in the Road was able to participate in a leadership course which took her to the scene of the Battle of Gettysburg for three days.

In other school blogs: MIT Sloan students are all over the world: in Southeast Asia, in Rwanda and Tanzania, and some reflections on the Rwanda and Tanzania trip; Kellogg’s blog has an excellent post about the second year, as well as some things to think about before interviewing with a startup, and – conversely - insights into what to think about before interviewing and recruiting for your start-up; Elsewhere, Duke Fuqua is trying to help make recruiting easy and Mark Gallagher, GMU Business School MBA class of ’94, has just been honored with a service award from the school.
