HEC Paris – Business Education through Animation: MBA News

Updated UpdatedHEC Paris School of Management has launched a new business education tool aimed at revolutionizing teaching and learning. Ranked 8th in Europe in the 2012/13 QS Global 200 Business School Report, the school aims at making research concepts in business more globally accessible.
‘HEC Ideas’ is a video production initiative. It is the product of a partnership with Augustin de Belloy who graduated from HEC Paris with an MSc in Management and went on to become the co-founder and CEO of the film company Left Productions. De Belloy claims it was his time at HEC that inspired him to create this series of educational videos and he hopes that it will help promote academic research outside of business education in order to challenge and inspire.
HEC Paris leads the way in modern modes of educational communication
The first episode released this week is entitled ‘How to Bake a Broccoli Quiche: A View on Organization’ based on the book La désorganisation du monde by Rodolphe Durand, a strategy professor and director of the Society and Organization Research Centre at HEC Paris. The animated film shows how organization pervades society and provides a wealth of problem solutions as well as helping us understand our surroundings. To Durand, an understanding of organization is of crucial importance in effecting economic, political and social change and he wishes to share this with as wide an audience as possible.
HEC Paris is a founding member of ParisTech, a science, technology and management institute which brings together 12 of France’s most prestigious Grandes Écoles. There will be three more videos produced in the coming months on the topics of socially responsible investing (SRI), incentives and energy.
