MBA Application Deadlines for 2017: Top Business Schools in Australia
By Nicole Willson
Updated UpdatedIt’s still early days in the 2017 application cycle, but a few of the top business schools in Australia have released their latest sets of MBA application deadlines.
Dates given are for the round one domestic deadlines associated with full-time MBA programs, unless otherwise noted. It’s important to note, however, that international students usually need to get their applications in earlier than their domestic counterparts, so it’s always worth checking the website of your chosen school(s) for more details.
Melbourne Business School’s first deadline of the admissions cycle for its August 2017 intake falls on August 31, 2016 and is associated with consideration for its Asian Development bank scholarship (for citizens from the organization’s list of members). The round one MBA application deadline, which doubles as a deadline for its Diversity Excellence Scholarship is October 21 2016.
For a January 2017 start in Melbourne, the next Monash MBA application deadline is July 31 2016, and serves as both the round one deadline for domestic applicants as well as the round two deadline for international applicants.
Over at RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), applications to begin its MBA early in 2017 are to be accepted between August 14 and December 1, 2016 (domestic students only).
The next deadline for Sydney’s AGSM MBA program at UNSW Business School is August 1 2016. This is the second round for the program starting in January 2017 (the third round deadline in October 1).
Elsewhere in the Sydney area, the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) has a November 25 2016 deadline to start its MBA in January 2017 and a March 3 2017 deadline to begin in April. For international students, the equivalent deadlines are about two weeks earlier (November 11 2016 and February 11, respectively.)
The closing date for submitting applications to begin the University of Queensland’s MBA program in 2017 is expected to be May 31 2017 to begin in the university’s second semester (term) of the year, or November 30 2016 to begin in its first semester of 2017.
At another Queensland-based business school, the QUT Graduate School of Business, the closing date for applications to the MBA program are February 14 2017 to begin in its March semester. Since all places can be filled before the starting date, applicants are advised to apply as early as possible. For applicants to QUT’s EMBA program, the EMBA application deadlines are December 1 for the January intake and May 1 for the June intake.
Out in Perth, the next (round three) MBA application deadline for the University of Western Australia’s Business School is August 1, with a final round deadline on October 3 2016 and offers sent out roughly one month later.
