MBA Application Deadlines for 2017: Top Business Schools in Asia

A number of the top business schools in Asia have released their MBA application deadlines, for programs based in India, Singapore, China and Japan.

The dates given below relate to round one application deadlines applicable to domestic students for full-time programs, unless otherwise noted. International students usually need to get their applications in earlier than their domestic counterparts, so you should check the website of your chosen school(s) for more details in this instance. (Please note that the list of institutions listed here is based on a selection of those for which deadlines were available at the time of writing and is therefore not intended to be exhaustive.)

MBA application deadlines for top business schools in India

The round one application deadline for the Indian School of Business is October 15 2016 for domestic applicants. Non-Indian passport holders are encouraged to apply any time before January 15, 2017, so that they can complete the visa-application process in plenty of time before the program commences.

According to a representative from IIM Bangalore, admission to their PGP program centers on the CAT test which is held across India and is administered by one of the IIMs. The round one application window for IIM Bangalore’s executive ‘EPGP’ program started on June 1 and ends on August 31, 2016, with the second round commencing the very next day, September 1.

The deadlines for two other executive programs in India have also been released. The round one application deadline for IIM Ahmedabad’s PGPX program is September 12, 2016 for the program beginning in April 2017. Also starting next April is the PGPEX program at IIM Calcutta, for which the application window runs until October 25, 2016.

MBA application deadlines for top business schools in Singapore

The MBA application deadlines for INSEAD Singapore are the same as those pertaining to INSEAD’s European programs. While the last deadline for the January intake (class of December 2017) passed at the end of July, the round one deadline for its September intake (class of July 2018) is September 21, 2016.

Over at NUS Business School, the application window for the full-time MBA starts on October 1 and runs until March 31, 2017. Round one, which also serves as the period in which applicants are eligible for scholarships, has a deadline of January 31, 2017.

Nanyang Business School’s round one application deadline falls on November 2, 2016, with ensuing interview decisions given on December 15. Applicants in round one will be notified of final decisions by January 5, 2017.

MBA application deadlines for top business schools in China

The round one application deadline for entry into CEIBS'sclass of 2019 is November 9, 2016. Applicants will receive a decision by December 16.

The round one application deadline for Tsinghua’s global MBA based in Beijing is November 15, 2016. Decisions will be released a month later, on December 16. Enrollment in the program is scheduled to take place in August 2017.

MBA application deadlines for top business schools in Hong Kong

The round one deadline for HKUST Business School is November 9, 2016, with decisions for a program that begins in August 2017 communicated by February 3.

MBA application deadlines for top business schools in Japan

For enrollment in September 2017 at Waseda Business School, the round one deadline is September 12, 2016, with results announced on October 6, 2016. The deadline for round two is one November 6.

International applicants have two rounds in which they can apply for the MBA program at International University of Japan, the first of which has a deadline of February 17, 2017. The first of four rounds applicable to domestic applicants has a deadline November 17, 2016.
