By Nicole Willson
Updated UpdatedWhat does it take to get into an elite North American business school? A high GMAT score for one thing; a definite prerequisite for candidates who are not truly exceptional in some other way.
Every school in the top 10 of the 2014/2015 QS Global 200 rankings for North America has an average GMAT score of over 700. The average at the three joint top schools – Harvard Business School, the Wharton School and Stanford GSB – stands at 725 or higher.
To put this in perspective, the average GMAT score for North American schools in the ranking is 658. Only 20% of North American schools featuring in the Global 200 ranking had average GMAT scores which put them in the ‘700 club’. All 10 schools are based in the US.
